 RVSOA ONLINE REGISTRATION

IMPORTANT: the initial registration period was open for 3 1/2 months ending December 31, 2011.  You may now only register as a late registrant, incurring a late fee, until March 31, 2012.

After March 31, 2012 the mebership roster for RVSOA will be finalized and sent ot the NJSIAA.  No further registrations will be accepted after March 31, 2012.

The total registration period will have been mid- Sept 2011 through end of March 2012 for a total of  6 1/2 MONTHS.

The Raritan Valley Soccer Officials Association (RVSOA) is an independent association of certified high school soccer officials.  RVSOA provides officials to officiate at all levels of soccer competition at accredited public, private and parochial middle and high schools. 

This support is provided in New Jersey’s Raritan Valley counties of Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, and Warren. These games are officiated in accordance with the laws/rules of soccer set forth by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) as modified by the New Jersey Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJISAA).

I need your action on this.  When you accept a game, you have a contractual obligation to perform professionally and are being paid to do so.  Your job does not necessarily end at the final whistle.  One of the responsibilities of a referee is to submit correctly completed reports on a timely basis.   We have had schools contact us about this not being followed.

In game management there are appropriate times and ways to deal with misconduct, including issuing Yellow and Red cards.  We expect you do follow the Rules of Soccer. 

First, when misconduct is dealt with by awarding a yellow card, yellow/red, or straight red you must complete the Misconduct Form on the www.rvsoa.net website and transmit this form to the county reps.  The process is not difficult, but if you need help reach out to a county rep.

Secondly, for a straight Red Card Disqualification, you absolutely must also complete and submit a NJSIAA Disqualification Form(this form is available both on our website and at www.njsiaa.org.)

For a RED CARD DQ, follow this procedure as outlined by NJSIAA:
Official must file this written report within three (3) days of disqualification/termination to:
1. Offending School Principal(s)
2. Chapter Secretary
3. NJSIAA - P.O. Box 487 Robbinsville, NJ 08691

REMINDER: The school athletic director must be notified by the official in person or by phone no later than noon of the day following the disqualification.

See your blue NJSIAA Handbook, pages 11-12, for more information on procedures for misconduct.  The Officials Handbook is also available on the NJSIAA website.
 
There is no other way to say this, FAILURE TO FILE DISQUALIFICATION REPORTS WILL RESULT IN PUNITIVE ACTION BY THE NJSIAA AND LIKELY BY THE CHAPTER.
