RARITAN VALLEY SOCCER OFFICIALS ASSOCIATION

WANTED   SOCCER   OFFICIALS!

Are you interested in becoming a High School Soccer Official?

The Raritan Valley Soccer Officials Association (RVSOA) is a member of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletics Association (NJSIAA), and the Referee Arm of high school athletics in  Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, and Warren Counties.  Each year the association conducts a High School Soccer Referee Certification training course.  The course consists of two (2) classes and a final exam.  These classes are held in August of each year.  Successful completion of this course and the NJSIAA Certification Exam leads to RVSOA certification.  

During your Cadet Training period, and as part of your training program,  you will be assigned to officiate sub varsity high school games under the supervision of a certified referee.  

To become a RVSOA Official is Simple:

  • Identify your experience

    If you have been a certified high school referee send an email to our Membership Chairman stating your experiences. He will notify you how to become certified by RVSOA.

    If you are new to high school refereeing, complete the Cadet Registration.

  • Training

    Attend the Cadet Training Classes: topics, dates times and locations are listed in the Cadet Menu.

  • Test

    The final step in the certification process is to take the NJSIAA High School Soccer Referee Exam.  Each candidate is expected to attain a grade of 75% on the exam for certification.

  • Meeting Attendance

    To remain certified you must attend the Interpretation Meeting and four (4) membership meetings per year. At these meetings an aspect of soccer management will be discussed.

  • Fees

    Cadet Fee:  $30.. 

    RVSOA dues of $90 for the 2010 Soccer Season. 

    Cadets must pay the Cadet Fee and current year dues at time of registration ($120). 

    Your dues for 2011 will be due by November 30, 2010.
